Default North East Wales Hospital/Denbigh Mental Asylum

This is my first post on this site, so here goes!
This was my first ever explore of a derelict place, and I have to say I fell in love with it. I always feel compelled to go back and wander around the buildings.
I won't post all the history as I'm sure you will have read it somewhere before. Also, my photos aren't great, I'm only a novice and I haven't tried editing any. Never the less, hope you enjoy them!

Aaaahh...the infamous Beardy and his dog! Yeah, the security at Denbigh isn't actually security and his dog attacks people too :/ hope you're alright!

I first went in 2009, I'd love to go again but don't want to risk seeing or being attacked by Beardy/his friends/his dogs.

Aye, you're right, he isn't security. I was fine though, escaped with only a scratch and the police were contacted about it. They took his side, so a complaint has been made. Apparently he has to apologise to us for it, or we can press charges against him! Also, look out for the guy with the gun, he pointed it at us when we emerged out of a building.

Thanks! yours were much better than mine, mine are only basic haha. I still want more pictures of this place, but I never like to stop there for too long because of that grounds keeper guy

Oh he is! He has given me abuse outside the grounds, made threats, called my mate a "stupid b***h", threatened to report my car to the police, the lot! My advice is, stay away from him. He doesn't seem to be able to talk in a civilised manor, not to younger people like myself anyway.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
