Ok, had a quick run back to Harperbury this evening and had a very different experience than usual explores I've done.

Usually it's all done in the shadows and trying to not get seen, but we were stood in the middle of the football field taking photos in broad daylight and security HAD seen us but didnt seem bothered, we even spoke to one of the two guys and he seemed so completely un-interested in us... and a little bit stoned :)

Still didnt find the padded room though!

But the different part, I'm into Radio Controlled flying, so I thought it would be good to video Harperbury from the air. Again Security must have seen this (or they're blind) but didnt seem bothered.

Link to the video at the end of this post...

Hope you enjoy. It's a bit different from the usual DP report but still Urbex, sort of

Loving the plane video! Is it just a action cam strapped to a petrol plane or a full camera plane?

Never seen anything like it before but have the sudden urge to spend some money on one! :)

OMG That is epic!!!
I think everyone now has to go and get one!

You need to come to Chernobyl with me...

Well thanks for that! The quad copter I've been thinking about is now right to the top of my shopping list lol.GF

Thanks :D

It's a £150 electric plane, so very quiet and doesnt break many of the laws that the nitro ones do. The camera is a FlyCamOne, and fairly cheap :)

Great stuff! Hmmm! Maybe radio controlled crawling thingy for those impossible to get into sites.......

Nice stuff

Like the plane footage (A smidgen too long though) ;)

The padded cells and the swimming pool are over the other side of the site, the derelict parts at Harperbury sit either side of the long road that goes through the live site

Hey, thanks for the great pictures!
It's an amazing place, my stepmum and her parents used to work here and know the place like the back of their hands. I've been here a few times in the past month or so.
I know where the padded cell is and have pictures of it too... Next time you're there let me know! I'd be well up for showing you where abouts the padded cell, swimming pool, swings, even an old doll is! And the rainbow on the wall, can't miss that!
Amazing place, gives me a buzz.
Thanks again!
Samii
