Hi all,

This is my first report and I've seen quite a bit of coverage on here about this place over the past few years. Sadly there isn't much remaining anymore due to the new house estate they're currently building on the former grounds.

Me and my girlfriend decided to attempt visting the site randomly last saturday evening, we wasn't exactly prepared for it but as long as I had battery in my camera that's all that mattered. Navigating around the new house estate was a little tricky but we eventually managed to locate it.

On the way to this main admin building:

After spending a short while enjoying the Church which was unfortunatly inaccessible, we decided to move on and try to find more of the Hospital. We were greeted by the amazing structure of the old engine room/water tower. Which was in the process of being demolished, and once again inaccessible. With plenty of danger sign in place, we kind of made the decision to not try and venture further into the water tower.

The sign read:

The water tower itself was quite something to see!

We then moved on to the main admin building.

From the back:

From the front:

Now onto the inside, as soon as we get into the hospital we found a eerie sign:

A bit spooky eh? :p a typical Essex warm welcome.

Like I said at the begining of this report that this place was totally empty, nothing but dark empty rooms, and broken glass, with only a small amount of light getting in, and being as this visit was completly unplanned I didn't have a decent flash with me. So unfortunally I wasn't able to capture some of the rooms which was a shame because some of the rooms in this bulding were amazing to see.

She's forever walking in front of the camera:p

Now upstairs:

That's it.

Thanks for viewing!

Hope you enjoy my first report, feedback is always welcomed :D

Stupidly I did read that after posting, so I'm now waiting for my photos to upload to imgur

Not stupid at all, it's a learning curve and you're most definitely not the first! I look forward to seeing the photos now you've built up the anticipation! ;)

Welcome to the forum! Some really nice pics there. I also have the same issue of my other half walking in front of the camera sometimes. Great work on your first report.

Pretty good for your first report. Photographs are quite good, a pity you didn't post slightly bigger ones but, alas not to worry - its a good post.
