Firth Vickers were a major name in Sheffield's steel empire, and perhaps best known for the invention of Stainless steel in 1912. They branded this 'Staybrite' which gives this works its name.

Amazing photography. Love that wheel in the first pic, and the filing cabinets.
I'm glad to see Sheffield reports again, it's been quiet from there until you have started posting, which is a shame, there are some beautiful sites up there.

Really? We bumped into two other pairs of people in Barnsley's alone, as well as having some other friends out and about on the same day who we hooked up with later on. There was a third site that we entered as another pair left, and we know that had been hit quite a lot that morning too.

Sheffield is really busy for UE at the moment! I guess no one's putting the pics up though :p

Cheers for the kind words everyone :)
