HISTORY

Ferrari’s Bakery in Hirwaun was a well know brand to most folk in Wales until it went into administration in the early 2000’s. They were renowned for their cakes and pastries.
Sadly, the company went in to administration before Christmas of 2006 and with it came over 600 redundancies.

EXPLORATION

It’s clear that several attempts have been made to access and then later re-secure the site, however, we found an hole in the fence where we were able to gain access. I travelled with my virgin companion pyjones(!) The site is now fairly derelict with ‘clean’ floors and looking at previous photos, a lot of the last memorabilia is no longer present. There were a few signs that maybe some sort of demolition has been taking place recently, due to neat piles of rubble of the roof throughout the site.

We were most fascinated to see the old ovens (or what looked like ovens and were indicated by signage) – see photos below for more info.
