Farthingloe HAA site Dover _ June 09

Hi All

This was the first site on the monster 3 day Kent madness tour, it's Farthingloe heavy anti aircraft gun site, built to protect Dover. Built up on the hills to the West of the town.



This shot shows the large hold fast for the guns



inside one of the ammo magazines, there are 2 on the site.



information on the wall tells what type of ammo is there and what type of fuses are stored.


This is the control bunker in the middle of the site


The heavy steel blast doors are still in place inside the bunker

nice find, lot more detail there than in the local ones near me... good little post thanks for sharing!

I like that, theres still quite a bit there by the looks of it, and the detailing on the walls is ace, really tells you alot about what was going on.

Good one - didn't get inside the main bunker when I was there in April, so all round you have done a much better job than me.
