So there is even more to Holton Heath RNCF than originally thought, just keep finding more things hidden away!

With the help of Ben (sorry mate couldn’t remember your usr name) and the company of Bonecollector we set off to find the labs at Holton. Found with ease and we were in there in no time! Just what we like! :)

Sorry but cant seem to find any history on this place but I am 99.9% sure that these labs were used in conjunction with the process of cordite manufacturing, the only reason I am not 100% sure is that on the main map of the old RNCF site the labs are meant to be on the other side of the road. Maybe there’s more labs than mentioned or maybe the road has moved since.. who knows!?!

The main laboratory at Holton Heath. This photograph shows testing of the various materials produced at Holton Heath. The "Quality Assurance" as it is called today, was of a very high standard. In addition to testing at the various manufacturing stages, the final product was also closely inspected by a separate body, the Inspectorate of Naval Ordnance.

theres some weird stuff in there.have you managed to get in the site down the road from there?back up to the main road down towards the industrial site ?in the woods there, there is loads of old tunnels and random hide outs just scattered about ?

yeah thats the area.was working there on a bank holiday and decided to go off road with the dumper and found loads of tunnels and hidden bits.

Nice pics & finds again guys. It sure looks like one of those sites that can be visited a few times & always find something new.
