On one of my many visits to see family in Warsaw I stumbled across this tram in the Praga district of Warsaw. From the distance I initially thought it was rotting away at the back of a depot, however on closer inspection realised that this little gem was sat on a small piece of grassland with easy access.
The Konstal 105Na tram (nicknamed "The Glasshouse" due to it's very large windows) was produced between 1984-1992. Out of the 382 produced for the streets of Warsaw, 95 were original 105N trams (built between 1974-1979) that were fitted with new bogies, motorman's cab and upgraded electrics. 281 were of a new construction and the remainder from other variants of the 105N. A good percentage of 105Na trams still operate in Warsaw and were again heavily refurbished in time for the Euro 2012 football championships.
Car 1083 was retired from service in 2012 and has been sat on this land since 2013.
