This isn't going to be a hugely revealing report, in fact I'm doubtful as to whether I should submit it at all. The only thing I know about this building is that it was built by the same man who built the Berlin Wall, a man who killed, plotted, and imprisoned an entire nation.
Some pictures on Facebook roused my curiosity, and as I was heading to Germany in a couple of weeks anyway I decided to put Google to the test once again. Finding out where these places are is frighteningly easy - the old East Germany lives under a combination of disbelief and denial when it comes to the full scale of it's leaders' crimes, and while locations aren't common knowledge it's easy enough to get details once you scrape back the covers.
I'm aware this may well look like just another crumbling, faceless tower block. That's fine. For me it has a person significance, and a brick from this building is worth a thousand (supposedly original) bricks from the Wall.
See you in hell, Walter.
Thanks for looking / sorry for the Spam.
