The Machinist's House, Surrey - February 2016

I first visited here the day after getting back from a road trip around Scotland last year, we still had use of the hire car for another day so we decided to check out as many local places as we could. My pics on my phone didn't turn out that great because it was so dark and there was one I really wanted to re-take ever since I bought my camera. A friend of ours came up from West Sussex for the day and we had a list of places to explore. She really wanted to see this house so we made that the first stop.

I know this place was been covered a lot but I haven't seen any recent reports so I thought I'd share some pics to show how much more trashed it has become. There were more items missing and a lot more litter and vandalism than when we were last there. I am sure someone has moved the printing equipment, or at least tried to!

We didn't stick around too long, the place has been been trashed even further and the smell of mould was pretty overpowering. We then set off to visit the Wedding Dress Cottage (thanks to LittleOz for the info) and arrived to find it completely boarded up. I was gutted we couldn't get in but at the same time I was glad to see some precautions had been take to stop it ending up in a complete state like this.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice pictures Brewtal. Shame about all the vandalism though. Just had a look back at earlier posts and a lot has changed!

Cheers Rubex! Yeah I was comparing it to my blurry pics from October last year and a lot has changed in such a short space of time!

That looks like a good explore - thinking about it some of these places are a bit bad mould - stink - dust wise - do any of you folks wear breathing masks on any explores?

I work with nasty chemicals and in a very dusty environment so I'm always conscious of what I'm breathing in. I dread to think what kind of nasty stuff lurks in an environment like this!

Very nice brewtal..even though stuff has gone missing.you have done a nice report here.

I tend to wear a mask at older buildings an if it smells, however I've got a beard so it probably doesn't help all that much.

Nice report Brewtal, I must track down some of these houses.
