Spotting this little cottage on the side of the road on the way home from Wales, I couldn't resist getting out to have a look. It's a small place that has obviously been unoccupied for many years. There isn't a lot to see inside but the stonework on the interior walls, the aga, and the old newspaper were very nice. This was a lovely end to the trip :)

Thanks for looking,

Rubex

That's a cosy little cottage that just needs some TLC. It must have been derelict since the 1980s noting the news about Simon Le-Bon.

That's a lovely set rubex.it was certainly worth the stop.it was such a cute little place

Certainly modernised at some time after it was built (low flush WC and Aga replacing the original inset Range), the decorative brick work on the roofline, window ledges and lower exterior walls makes me wonder if this was originally part of a large Estate - built to house estate workers or keepers perhaps? I suspect the exterior render was part of the much later modernisations, done when the Estate was broken up and the rundown properties sold off. A look at the relevant OS maps. should give some indication as to the original status of the land there abouts.

Very nice find and as you state - a very nice end to a trip. Thanks for recording this place in such telling detail.

The drive-by ones are always a lovely surprise! This was a great one. The aga is almost identical to the one in the Lullaby house! Great stuff as always Rubex
