i've been meaning to to go down the post for sometime now as in previous visits we had onl located it. opened in 1958, the post closed only 10 years after it was opened. the post itself is heavily damaged with signs of fire damage and litter everywhere. there was also a lovely 2" layer of water to contend with, even though its been dry for a while now. we weren't the only ones down there, we were joined by hundreds of huge spiders, and they were huge!!

anyway, heres a few pics from the day, enjoy, any comments welcomed...

cheers dude, yeh it wasn't the niccest place to go down but was worth the visit. yeh the spiders were rather evil, i think they might be a certain type, i hope not but they might be, doing some looking around at the min to find out more. there were hundreds of them and the hegs for the things were huge, further research will be needed i think.

This post is getting bad. There never used to be that much water inthere. Myself and Badoosh did put a cover over the hatch to hold out the water, but i guess recent visitors have'nt bothered to replace it.

we didn't see any sign of a cover either on this visit or on previous visits dating back a month or so, there was at least an inch of water which wasn't exactly pleasent. me and a mate were thinking of trying to preserve it but we'll need to find contact details of the land owners first.

Your mad even contemplating preserving this one.

Find one which has the hatch intact, isnt flooded or fire damaged and has stuff in.

Unless of course you want to spend thousands.

Finding land owners isnt hard, if your serious about finding the land owner of this one then the best thing to do is,

1) Locate it on an OS Map
2) Find the nearest farms
3) Get out your BT Directory and search for the farms
4) OR google it on the internet, try and find a number, or find the owners name
5) Cross ref it with BT Directory
6) If that fails ring around the local village.

All of these steps have never failed for me.

But if your gonna preserve one, preserve one thats worth preserving.

There were 1563 built, so you have a lot to choose from :)

Land owners already spoken to. I think i have already mentioned this to you in an e-mail unless you are a different person.
