History

Approximately 100 yards east of the entrance to the Amman Valley Hospital, is a path which links Folland Road, Glanamman with Hên Bethel Chapel. Along this path, less than a quarter of a mile from Folland Road, is an old farmstead known as Ty Llwyd (translates as "Grey House").

Local folklore has it that this grade II listed building dates back to Norman times, some even claiming that it is listed in the Doomsday Book. The appearance of the dwelling house and outbuildings is enough to reinforce its reputation and its double storey gabled entrance porch with its low doorway and stone seats is reminiscent of an old Norman Church. Inside the dwelling, old stone flagged floors and a now partly blocked fireplace are almost all it has to offer in the way of home comforts, the very thick walls and small windows keeping the interior dark. - Cwmammonhistory.co.uk

Found out about this place from a non UrbEx friend who lives local. He knew I'd be interested. Must have been, as I found myself heading there less than 12 hours later. It's a little trek from the road where I parked, roughly half a mile. The stables are still being used. Looks like there was a fire at one point, but not too much fire damage. The front door is hanging off as you can see, some windows are broken, part of an upper floor ceiling is starting to rot and the floor upstairs didn't feel too safe. I took a few quick shots as I thought someone might turn up at any moment what with the horses there.

Looks a lot bigger from the outside and not much going on inside, but thanks for looking.
