I haven't posted anything for a while due to work commitments. I'm taking some time off soon to protect my sanity, so before my next road trip up north I figured I'd post up some new stuff before my backlog gets bigger. I'm still finding the time to get out and about occasionally but very little time and energy to sit at the computer and write up reports.
I first heard about these cottages a while ago through a friend of a friend. My mate had mentioned what me and H get up to in our spare time and they were quite fascinated by it and told me about this place. I never really gave it much though for about a year and decided to take a punt and check it out.
Sadly I have no history. We found a log book dating back to 2004 and someone who had lived there was learning to speak Czech and had an interest in animals. They are situated on the edge of an active farm and when there were signs of life we left before we were spotted.
One house looked very new compared to the other, but both were in right old state inside. The older looking one was pretty uninteresting apart from the decay, the second one was a bit more photogenic. I can imagine they would have been a lovely place to stay given the cracking view. It appeared that there had been some intention to renovate and restore, but that had clearly ground to a halt as the building materials had remained untouched since they were left there.
Cottage number 1:
This was only one side of the cottage. There was nothing of interest in the other side, even the grime was dull!
Cottage number 2:
Thanks for looking!
