And so I arrive to the potential.

Glad to see it as expected. I finally arrived just before sunset, a perfect time for this little cottage, situated in the middle of nowhere. Access was nice and easy, I didn't know what to expect when I first saw it. Although empty, it's a gem.

I recon the house became abandoned around 30 years ago, the last owner was probably very old and owned this his whole life. The atmosphere inside this cottage was quite strange, I'm sure I felt a random tap on my shoulder upstairs, Obviously just imagined it. Anyway, I loved what was decaying here. Partially the old bathroom.

The shed at the side was sealed.

Thanks for looking. :)

Quite old looking this one. The rafters are not shaped and are taken from cut trees. A little bit of attention and this could become a quaint cottage.

I recognise this one. Not to far from where I used to live ( another just down the road from here ). You never got there by bike :) Thanks for putting it out there.

Nice set of images. A prime example of how not to preserve a timber framed building! The landlord/owner was under the impression that render and pebble dash would waterproof the structure and preserve same. Unfortunately the reverse has happened and the timber framing is now very rotten at ground level - this and the fact that foundations/footings are virtually nonexistent probably means that the structure will just continue to collapse. An inlaw of mine was born in and worked as a builder/conserver in Lavenham all his life - he always stated that putting 'modern' cladding over old timber framing was a death sentence for the original wooden framework. It sealed in the damp and accelerated rot, which obviously was nearly always hidden from view. This place is well known to groups with interests in preserving timber framed structures.
