Hi, visited alone, been wondering about posting this or not with such an overdose of it in Dec/Jan. Decided to for a couple of reasons: 1-High Royds is only 30 mins away so I’d be a FOOL not to! 2-If everyone remembers their first thoughts when they see/explore High Royds (or anything similar) then I had those feelings too! Some similar pics to others & I apologise if you’ve seen your share but I’ve trimmed it right down from around 300 pics! I hope everyone gets something out of at least one pic! :)

Thanks for looking. :)

Shocking what a state the buildings are in now compared to how they looked in 2006 the whole place has really gone downhill very quickly.

Interesting too the way they have bricked up the hall, It really detracts from the feel of the place. :(

It looks like they have inserted those blocks around where the fireplaces with wooden overmantles were. How odd. I presume they removed them, but why not fill the hole if they had?

I think the fireplaces are still in there behind the blockwork. I'm sure they've done it to save them from thieving tw*ts! Thank goodness they're looking after some things anyway!

Very very good pics, this has to be one thee best sets from Highroyds..well done indeed.

Brilliant, and most of those pics I haven't seen before. I love those stained glass windows, and the ornate tiles, and love the main hall. I never tire of seeing pics of High Royds. I could look at them all day.

Cheers,

:) Sal

Thanks  you're very kind! I've seen lots of pics of High Royds (i never tire of them too smileysal!) so that's a huge compliment! It really is a stunning place, sad in places but stunning! :)

Nice work, until you have seen this place in person you dont realise how awesome it is! We never had time to see the Gym or kitchens and the morgue was impossible when we went :(

Fantastic work.

Yes, I thought that was a lot of dead people in that space of time too.

They must be looking after the place if the stained glass windows are still intact.
