We found this whilst en route to another chateau, tell tale signs of BIG gates, no windows and lots of undergrowth had us screeching to a halt!...there was a guy putting the bin out, after asking him in French if he spoke English...he replied in English!..so we asked if we could come in and take some pictures...he was not only nice enough to let us but also to give us some history too....the estate was owned by Joseph Bonaparte, one time king of Spain, he built it for his mistress!!!...the main house caught fire in the 1930's & was partly restored, the present owner has been there for 12 years & it was derelict for maybe 15 years prior to him buying it, since buying it he has renovated one of the two gatehouses, the stables & two other big buildings, one of which he lives in with his 4 dogs....a thoroughly nice guy & a cool find
