I came across this place earlier this week. I was checking out a few places in Llangollen that proved fruitless. This place was impenetrable, but bore a little fruit. Would love to get inside for a proper look.

Open for business?

Pots and plants

Shoes repaired here

Withering plant. This place can't have been empty long

In need of a polish?

The obligatory Singer

Feet first

Is this true?

Buffers

A box of assorted items

I like the look of that, reminds me of similar little shoe repair shops that were dotted around here at one time.

Photo Number 5 is of a Singer 29K, though fitted with a hand side wheel the leather drive belt means it has it's foot treadle too! It's a "leather patcher" sewing machine that is still the first choice for many a cobbler or leather worker and can still be found in use in may such working environments . . . I still miss mine having foolishly "upgraded" to a bigger, power operated "walking foot".

Please be careful who you mention this place too . . . lest it goes for the weight of it's cast iron . . . one day somebody may yet get the chance to use that old machine.
