The Royal Hotel - May 2014

Whilst driving along in work I noticed this pub looked empty with an auction sign at the side, on closer inspection it was wide open so i took a couple of iphone shots and went to inform Cunningplan who duly arranged to visit later.

Well, what a surprise, it had been trashed in parts but mainly for the copper, and loads of the original features were still intact. I've tried to get some history on the place to no avail. The pub has always been open since I was a nipper but it closed in 2010 due to the increasae in rates.

The former owner was taken to court due to noise,fighting and open until the early hours in the morning, just a good old fashioned pub. The current auction price online is £ 70,000.00.

Still some nice victorian features remaining,great photos thanks for sharing.

It's a bit trashed but you got a good variety of nice crisp shots. Great first post.

It is always a shame when a pub closes, but judged 0by the bar dispensers this one only sold Keg."Beer comes from barrels.only crap comes from kegs, so perhaps it is not surprising this one closed
