Runwell closed in 2010.
I had heard rumours of its demolition as far back at 2012, so it was time to see what was left.

Here is what I found

The 'tower' from a distance, note the demolished wing appearing as rubble.

And the interior

The main administrative building, complete with clock tower.

Inside. There was no access to this building, unless you are prepared to open a few bolted doors.

The final building still standing - the chapel.

Here is a shot of the inside.

I have a feeling that this place will be entirely demolished soon. Still well worth a visit for the intrepid.

Good stuff, was that floor area flooded in your 4th and 5th pictures? I can't quite tell if it was grot floating on a watery film or just grot on the floor. Looks a stunning place.

Cheers.
Yeah there was a lot of water in that particular building. It was a lot deeper than it looks too.

It will be a real shame when this is completely gone, that tower/boiler house has got to be one of the most imposting and brutal in architecture in the country :(

Good to see whats left though, cheers Gonzo :)
