Mods please feel free to move this if in the wrong place but it was more a rural building than anything to do with the hospital.

So we had just investigated the mortuary and noticed the clock on the tree (last photo on my other thread) and noticed there was other buildings further into the woods, of course curiosity took over.
Here's what we found.....

Strange and random place for a suitcase to be discarded...

we came out of the "shed" and i noticed another building just opposite. I didn't capture the front of it though but got a few of the inside.

Looking round it looked like i should have been some sort of slaughter house, hooks up really high on the beams of the roof and a really big winch on the wall....

This last building was really strange to have within the hospital grounds, perhaps it was used to deal with high volumes of dead bodies in a really morbid way.......

A fine report, thanks for posting. I think the brick building is one of the old estate buildings for Botley's Mansion, which became Botley's Park Colony for Mental Defectives in 1932. If you visit again, go further into the trees (towards the road) and you'll find the derelict glasshouses and remains of the walled gardens which later became the hospital gardens department. Some of the old hospital buildings later became part of St. Peter's Hospital and there are even a couple of airing court shelters still around.

Thanks!! Was only a small one that we discovered by accident walking back to the car from original location.

Excellent thanks for that info I shall be visiting again and see what else we can find. Was reading up on botley manor today and silverlands orphanage still stands today but is heavily secured.??

Any ideas where that road actually leads to didn't want to risk going down there. Looks like shadow of a house??

Silverlands is still there, yes. I didn't try to get in as last I heard you only got about 10mins before the alarm went and security/police turned up.

Not sure which road you mean? I was talking about the Stonehill Road on the edge of the site. To get to the old gardens you actually have to cut through the bushes North/Northeastward behind the two buildings in your report. Sorry if that's confusing, I don't really know how else to explain it.
