Second part of the coastal trip we decided to check out what is left of the coastal artillery battery at Ringborough S0013163 unfortunately theres not a lot now as its all now over the edge last bit to fall was the tower according to the local farmer.Theres still a pillbox on top behind the farm buildings but it was all behind a security fence as the gas company who own the land are due to demolish it and the farm buildings.Gonna try and get back before they do and get some pics though.

matey the erosion round there is terrible all them defenses destroyed but good work in getting the remains. The generator house looks like its from a Chain Home Low station

I tell you what... I'd love to be close by when the sea erodes the cliff and one of "they big b*ggers" drops over the edge! They stay in one piece too which is seriously impressive!

Good piccies bud. :)

Would be interesting to watch yea :)

Yea i just looked on flash earth its back from the edge on there and theres a couple of what looks like small buildings still on the beach

After some confusion Rich and I think the CHL site is the Grimston one. The NMR and latest version of the overlay have it positioned nearer to the Coast Artillery Battery to the South East of East Newton and say it's been lost to erosion, which I suppose is mostly true but I don't think they looked hard enough, well done Rich. I've moved that placemark and the correction will appear in the next update.

Agreed the photos are great. I love the shot of the steps going nowhere. I just love the randomness of it being out of context.

I'd love to see that too. What's really blinking interesting though, is that they haven't just slipped over the edge, but it's a landslip where a chunk of the cliff has broken away and taken the pillbox with it. Even more impressive!
Well done, Rich...some great remains and pics there. :)
