Just a couple of pillboxes from me this time. These were an after thought as I hadn't planned on doing them this time round but after after being asked "politely" to leave RAF Brunton by the farmer who now works the land, although he did give me the number of the person I have to contact to see about a planned visit, I thought I would try and salvage something from the day. I did manage to photograph the 3 anderson shelters and what I think was a LAA emplacement from the airfield which I will post in a different report. right on with the pillboxes

quick warning if you are visiting this pillbox be wary of the cattle in the field they were no where to be seen when I entered the pillbox but as I exited it they charged at me sending me running faster than linford christy over 100m to get out of there way

one final shot taken after leaving the field and calming down a bit lol

cheers for looking, hope you enjoyed

Thanks
Jon

I had the same experience with cows when they surrounded me. Sometime curious but other times a little mad!!. I had to hop over some barbed wire fencing into some nettles at one point.
Nice prefab and a type i haven't seen yet. Out yesterday i also spotted a trench spike and it's a great feeling spotting it out in the field. I shall hopefully be posting my endeavours up later tonight.

Cracking photos, nicely offset with the sky. Is that a polarizing lens you use just out of interest?

There are quite a few prefab pillboxes left up this way and shed loads of that variant type, the embrasures are very similar to the lozenge type we also have round this way. Confession time I've been having to use the camera on my iPhone 4 as I had an accident with my Fuji which has resulted in me saving for a new camera, I have just downloaded an app which hopefully will make my photos a bit better

Couple of nice boxes there Jon good to see you had some decent weather as well lol The prefab looks like its sinking well

Cheers mate the prefab has been like that for the last 30 years that I can remember mate, I used to spend my school holidays up there in my parents caravan

Cheers guys, there are a lot more goodies round there but unfortunately I ran out of time including a very nice hotchkiss gun emplacement but that's for when I have more time
