Well it was a bit of a hit and miss kind of day today following DoB placemarks (Cptpies I will send you the corrections soon) but I still found a couple of goodies. I'll start off with lozenge pillbox that has two placemarks on the DoB a few miles apart but both are actually in the wrong place and there is nothing else within a couple of hundred yards from each of them. I had seen photos of this pillbox but the coordinates for it were given wrong as well. It took some finding...Sadly this one is sealed and is located near Shillbottle in Northumberland

moving swiftly on I headed up to Alnmouth and pillbox S0007250, there are two placemarks for this pillbox but the user submitted one is the correct location as there is nothing at the other location because I double checked to make sure there wasn't another pillbox there. This was a very nice type 22 pillbox on the golf course

Then it was on to the other side of the golf course and the remains of an anti tank gun emplacement sadly time and tide have taken it's toll on this one and not much survives. Judging by what remains I would say this would probably have been a type 28

And lastly from me is this little beauty on the seaward side of Alnmouth golf course it is the first time I have seen a pillbox like it. It is a variant on a lozenge type with half being lozenge shaped and the other half being square like a type 26 and it has some nice internal features as well.

Dam fine worth there Jonney me boy what more could I hope to see after a pillbox walk but more pillboxes. I'll post mine later

Right folks I have fixed the photo issues so hopefully no more problems

Thanks for fixing it thought I,d buggered things up as I usually do!!
Great shots and it looks like they are pretty clean too, thanks for sharing.

no mate just photobucket playing silly buggers or me being greedy lol. The location of them has a lot to do with how clean they are, 2 are on a golf course, 1 on a farm and the other in the middle of nowhere

Thanks for posting - that last variant lozenge is great!!

it's the first one I've seen with that configuration of tables in it and that mount makes me think that they had to alter the embrasure to suit the terrain after it was built

Isn't Shilbottle the place with the amusingly-altered roadsigns?!
Great pics, Jonney!

That's the place Gordon lol their imagination is a bit limited up there lol
