Hello :3

I'm a long time lurker, and recently got an email (I'm sure we all did) and it reminded me about this amazing forum!
I've struggled with depression and anxiety for a long time - that and my ex deliberately breaking my camera lead to me not really being in the mood for exploring anymore :(

But - if there's anyone in my area who could take me and possibly my little housemate on some adventures when the weather gets a little better that would be amazing! I just bought myself a new camera and think it's time to try and fight the demons a little.

Sorry to hear of your problems breaking a camera would depress me as well bing I just bought a new one. people are a bit cagey about taking newbies anywhere but if you live in North Wales you should not have any problems. My advice is look at an OS map of your area (google maps is not much good fro that), you will be amazed at what you will find, disused railways are always good and ruined churches or chapels I've come across a few in Wales. One thing you could also do it just go for a walk, you will always notice something worth looking at and you can always troll through the posts on here for ideas. Good luck with your exploring

I get that - I have been to a few places before I stopped this - Pool Parc was amazing a few years back.
Just if anyone does fancy meeting up I'd be up for it :) (I promise I'm not that weird)

North East Wales offers lots of photographic opportunities. Long gone foundries and coal mines spring to mind. There are many derelict farm buildings too. We moved to the area not that many years ago. Old buildings intrigue me but to be truthful I'm not into photographing them myself. If you stray over into Shropshire you will find my old ammunition stores; enormous bunkers scattered over a wide area. They were far enough apart to reduce the risk of one detonating an adjoining one if disaster struck. The sites of old airfields with the exception of around Liverpool and Manchester tend to be for WW2 aircrew training. Many remote villages have the remains of churches and chapels but many have been converted into quite smart houses now. Like the rest of the UK the area has many bits of old railway tracks including those from long since gone quarries and mines.

Hey I’m from north Wales but live in Liverpool. My tattoo studio is in north Wales 10 mins from Wrexham. I’m always exploring the derelict mansions etc... in north Wales if you ever want to come with me and my mate.

Mansions sound sick, do you have any pics?

Glad you are okay LF

Ew, civilisation - you can keep it ;) :p

Where's good to go and look at round here?

Boo :(
I do drive though, I just not very good at sourcing locations XD
Look through the post on here or use the search facility for key words like "wales" for instance, also look on other forums for ideas, then Google the names of places and use Google maps. It's surprising what few mins googling different terms and areas can throw up.
There is also a great mapping tool on here where you can have old and new apps side by side to compare.
