History:

This place needs no introduction really...Nocton Hall Hospital was a 740-bed serving RAF personnel based at the large number of RAF Stations in the area. The facility opened for medical use in June 1947 and was situated in the grounds of Nocton Hall which was used to provide accommodation for female officers. The hospital was used by forces personnel, their families and local civilians until it closed as an RAF facility on 31 March 1983.
In 1984 it was leased to the USAF for use as a wartime contingency hospital. During the Gulf War over 1,300 US medical staff were sent to the hall although only 35 casualties had to be treated. In its later days 13 American personnel remained to keep the hospital serviceable. The USAF handed back RAF Nocton Hall to the UK Government on 30 September 1995.

The Explore:

I’ve been here on two separate explores with the the other half of the funky muffin crew and on both occasions we’d been busted by what we call the hillbilly family. Both times we wandered around for hours unchallenged but on the last occasion we were sealed in Nocton Hall by the angry woman. We stood there and got a talking to like we were a couple of toddlers until her husband was kind enough to rescue us. Much to our disbelief he walked us right through the centre of the hall chatting to us all the way. It’s an incredible place to explore. The buildings themselves are so noisy, banging and creaking like they are alive. My friend had a sweet thrown at her ankle from out of nowhere while we were traveling down a deserted hallway. I saw something unexplained run past the window only to disappear through a wall, we‘ve heard screams and doors slamming where there are no doors. It’s easy to get a bit disoriented in there. One of my favourite explores.

Thanks for looking 😊

The couple are living on site & are really nice if they don't catch u in there. My mate met them & ended up taking drone footage for them.
I believe they restoring a water tower to live in but the future for the rest of it looks bleak.
It is of course this couple that run tours there.
I went myself with my lad around the time of your report & didn't encounter anyone.
Nice pics btw

Thank you and all of what you say is correct. She was nasty but her husband was real nice.

Really stunning set of images @FunkyMuffin

Bizarrely while I have done the hall, haven't been able to do the hospital. On the to do list.
Thank you @HughieD!
The hall was a serious death trap when we went. (even more than usual) We tripped the motion sensor that's how they found us. The hospital is amazing but sadly a no go now. Think those people live on site.

Very clear pictures. They give a sense of depth, thank you :). What long halls, imagine walking them every day over and over again. :D.
The place has taken a beating from the weather hasn't it. Sad that it will probably be demolished some day, it could probably be turned into units quite easily, but I suspect the damp has got into the brickwork thus making the walls not so stable.
Thank you for the tour FunkyMuffin :)

Why thank you for your kind words 😊
The damp has certainly set in as the last time I was there most all of the paint had peeled off the walls. I barely recognised where I was. I can imagine how busy it must have been with people scurrying down those hallways. Quite easy to get turned around in there.

The pictures were really good, perspective amazing but I liked the spooky preamble even more, you can't beat a good spooky feeling in a deserted building!
Thank you very much 😊 I agree and this place does not disappoint on the creepy factor! I’ve never been to a derelict building that made as much noise as this one!

Just to clarify then did u get caught in the old hall but got round the hospital shown here with no issues?
Thats odd, I believe they live in the hospital grounds, didnt realise they were anything to do with the hall.
I was there with my lad so didnt try the hall. Couldnt see a way in without getting covered in vandal paint tbh!

We did in fact get caught in the old hall. On both occasions we spent 5 hours in the hospital unchallenged. This was before they moved on site and started doing tours. There wasn't a soul there at that time. There is cctv at the retirement home that overlooks the hall. We got caught after we set off the sensors.

Cant believe they have sensors in there crazy

Spent time there as a young service man in 1950. It was immaculate then!
