This place has been done to death but I had to check it out for myself. Less than an hour away from where I live it would’ve been rude not to. I had a lovely morning journey through a snow dusted countryside. After having a bit of trouble parking up somewhere not so conspicuous I had a quiet, relaxed explore. It was freezing and the place is practically smashed to bits but being the good urbexer that I am, I turned off the lights and closed what windows hadn’t been smashed on my way through.

Everyone who‘s posted this place has some wonderful photos. Here’s my take on it.

Enjoy!

It's about 20 min from my house or less depending on which way I go and all I see of the place is if I drive past the outside which is not much because they put traffic lights on the bridge nearby. Saying all that you did a splendid job on coving the place. Quite why stupid kids have to trash a place is beyond me but knowing the reputation of some of the local places it is a wonder it is still standing maybe they have gotten less stupid over the years but I doubt it. Parking around there can be a problem I do not think the hotel would appreciate any one parking there to go and look at a old house that no one lives in.
Shame it was overcast on your visit.

Thank you and yes the traffic lights at the bridge made it quite tricky to get in. Parking was no problem, just paid a nominal fee. 😊 The amount of damage was minimal and contained to glass compared to what it could've been. I loved the old furniture but it did remind me of a nursing home. The place has some serious damp problems, probably too much to restore at this point.
