History:

In 1808 a day school was started in Shirburn supported by the Earl and Countess of Macclesfield. In 1871 this cottage had been converted into a school house and the attendance was 28 boys. In 1946 it was reorganised as a Junior and Infant School before closing in 1950.

The Explore:

The other half of the funky muffin crew was going stir crazy so a broken wrist wasn’t going to stop her on this occasion. This would be the second of four stops we would make this day and I tell you it did not disappoint. This was such a wonderful little location and a joy to explore even though we barely stayed 45min. Absolutely lovely natural decay and only one idiot who felt the need to tag.

Thank for looking 😊
Some lovely derpiness there, beautiful pics as always

What a lovely building, would make a lovely restoration/conversion to a home project.
Thank you for sharing it
Why thank you kindly. I think at this stage it is too far gone with rot and water damage that it can’t be saved but it is a lovely little place nonetheless 😊

Thank you and you are correct, it is near Watlington. Not too far from ferry house
You had me wondering about that Ferry House is in Shillingford about 15 mins away from me Shirbourn is a good half an our away from me. More like down the road a bit and a few corners but at least I know were we are now. :)
