like a good old hospital explore, the last shot on the tower, you can see a small brick plinth with 4 studs sticking out, recon that was where an 3 phase air raid siren was bolted down :-p

Christ that story brings back awful memories of Maison Boon in Belgium. That place put me off doing houses of any kind for four years, and I still struggle to bring myself to do rural farmhouses.

I know a fair bit about this place! I happen to work with a guy who worked at prodrive for years before he left in 2004, this placed used to be intact and he would often stroll down while on vehicle test etc. Sadly travellers got onto the site and stole various things, and it did then see a spate of vandalism over the years. His farther in law actually worked at Lucas before it closed down. My brother was a member of the clay pigeon club next to it that has since closed down. He had a...

Luck seems to be on your side. Move away from the condo then you find an derelict embassy. As for the condos it looks like the first two are a bit dodgy, looking at the staircases, IMG 5126 & 5127. The part built flats, probably ran out of cash but that pool of doom, I don't think I'll look at curry paste again.

I didn't realise there were shitty youtube videos of it already! It was posted on 28 and named outright, I just thought my name had a better ring to it. I went somewhere pretty horrible today, might post it up with the real name just as an experiment to see how quickly it ends up on youtube! ; ) It hasn't been posted up, stank of old people and shit, and was a total mess.

Ah. Yes. I remember seeing it in the newspaper now you come to say it, Dirus. Dear me, it wasn't that long ago either. May he rest in peace after such an unfortunate accident. A friend mentioned the stolen cars to me, but I wasn't aware of anything else regarding this site?

Obviously never been in an armed or dangerous conflict yourself! The two Officers took exactly the correct course of action when surrounded by a potentially armed mob - Cooled things down.

Don't apply for a job in Scene of Crime or Forensics any time soon! History of this place is very well known and does not require padding out with flights of fancy to make it any more interesting than it is already.

Some further information having now watched the video as well as looking at the photos. The room identified as the staff room in the video was I think the Home Economics Room - or it was at least when I worked there. The staff room was located on the first floor in the house and was connected to the school kitchen by a "dumb waiter" food lift. The school office, headteacher's office and several class rooms were in the main building which retained the ornate wooden staircase. Some areas...

WOW! I worked here as a supply teacher at the start of my teaching career in the Spring Term of 1987! I must admit I just don't recognise that brick arch. When I was there all the children used a large room on the ground floor of the main house for assemblies and lunch which had quite a grand fireplace. So perhaps that hall was out of use by then? I am surprised the wooden shed buildings are still standing as I visited the school some time before it closed and I am sure the building...

DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
