Found this old thread in a Google search and thought it might interest some of you to know that I lived in these cottages in 1995/96. It was in good condition when we left but it had old-fashioned, vertical "cottage stairs" to the upstairs bedrooms which are now illegal so I guess after we left the farmer couldn't let it out anymore. So disappointing to see it in this condition :(
 
That is pretty interesting & I can imagine how heartbreaking it must be to see them like this!
I had someone contact me once who grew up in a farm in Northants that I posted, I loved hearing her stories about the place!
 
That's very cool about the farm. These cottages were a cool place to live, off the beaten track and very quiet. We occasionally used to get RAF jets doing training runs through the valley below the height of the cottages and there was a very cool derelict castle called Drochil Castle a hundred yards or so from the cottage
