The Breconshire and Radnorshire Asylum opened in 1903 and was originally built to house 352 patients. Compared to some other County Asylums it was smale in scale and was built to the compact arrow plan, with a seperate Chapel. Due to the horrors of the first world war the hospital received a large number of shell shocked and trumatised soldiers and at one point was home to over 450 people which caused serious overcrowding issues.
The hospital closed in 2000 and demolition is well under way with a large portion of the central area flattened, however much still remains including the main hall and most if not all of the wards. The admin building is still partly live and is used as offices by a local business.

You've captured some nice details there.
It's a real shame that it's starting to be demolished, it's a very characterful and peaceful place.

No, most of it is in really good nick, that corridor and room were in a part where the roof was damaged. The rest of the place was pretty much bone dry;)
