After the trip to Willington Power Station, james.s, LIO112 and myself decided to go to Aston Hall asylum/hospital.
It was my first explore to this kind of place so I didn't quite know what to expect (I'd seen reports done of this place before) but I liked it quite spooky though. Also, sadly it was trashed quite badly.
A brief history of this place...it was built in the 1920's, and used as an auxilliary hospital, and then was used to house people with learning difficulties. The hall was built in the 1990's, it closed around 10 years ago and had a revolutionary hydrotherapy pool.
The first building we went into was the kitchen area, which was fairly interesting. We found a lightswitch panel which made a great noise when you flicked the switches!
Then we found the cafe area. From the cafe area, we found a way into the main hall and had a look around there. We then decided to be spooky and scare ourselves by going down beneath the stage, and then down a floor again to the basement.
After that, we went and found the hydrotherapy pool as well as a few water testing tablets, and some amusing signs.
After wondering around there for a while, we heading out to the games room where we came across a door with green graffiti on it that said 'DO NOT ENTER!' What did we do? We went in
behind said door was the toilets with some very interesting graffiti. One of the toilets was in remarkable condition, apparently until you looked inside it...
From there, we wondered to one of the secure units, which looked quite similar to the student halls of residences at Derby Uni
but these were in a worse state! Someone had fun making their name out of magnetic letters.
Now that I've probably bored you all silly with that, on to the photo's!
