Another day, another Welsh asylum - and what a difference from Talgarth. On the outside, Denbigh is an absolutely stunning building - it could easily be a posh country hotel. Inside, it's a mess - massive holes in the floor, lots of decay and demolition. Still quite photogernic, though :)

Excellent report Ben, if a little heavy on the wide shots. I am quite shocked to see the floor of the corridor leading to the main entrance. I've walked over it many times! Quite a drop.

I do like wide angle :)

The missing floor makes getting up the tower quite interesting...

Some of the wide shots are pretty good :)

Getting up the tower? How far did you get before giving up - I've only ever been about 2/3 up.

All the way - it's pretty shonky at the top, though, and no good views.

Nice shots Ben. What was the climb up the tower like?
I've walked over that collapsed floor in pic 3 too. I think it was nearly going then.

The trickiest bit is in pic 3 - you have to hug the wall to get past the hole to the front door, then hug the wall again to get to the far side - then it's onto the stairs. The stairs are mostly okay as they're stone to start with, but the intermediate landings are a bit wobbly. Then when it turns into a narrow wooden stair, the landings get very dodgy and you're basically walking on joists.

I love the wide angle as well, and the size of that room. I think that pic is an excellent one, as well as the red chair shot. :)

That floor was well dodgy when we went but we had run out of time so we never made the tower. Had regretted that but sounds like we didn't miss much after all! Great pics of the place, I love the wide angle shots! Nice work.

Ruined absolutely ruined. I was up there the other day (again) and the building is wrecked and this winter is going to do a hell of a lot of damage. This very important historic building is being deliberately killed by the owners.

Nice work with the photos again.
