currently, Hastings, but not forever :D
I actually went off this afternoon to explore another building but found it full of developers and contractors, luckily the building opposite is Hastings Cottage Care Home, also derelict and very burnt out so not a totally wasted trip (I'm gonna go back to the other place at five or sixish, hopefully they've all gone home by then, I'm a contractor myself and we don't like to work late!). So I slipped under the fence and luckily the boarded winows ripped open by the fire service when the put the blaze out had not been re-fixed which made it easier to hop in and out of areas from the outside as a lot of bits of celing had collapsed preventing me from going from room to room, and upstairs was totally inaccesable, not only had the stairs burnt away but most of the floor had too! The place was ankle deep in ash and collapsed plaster but there was still a vast amount of medical equipment lying around, poor use of resources by the NHS yet again!

Nurse call point, still bleeping and flashing away, yet the only person who came was me, and probs a bit too late!

This is very weird to see, last time I went to Hurst Court, THIS place was still in use!

Yeah its only recently been set fire to, the 'fire service do not cross' tape was still up and even the copper pipes hadn't been pikeyed but i think it was empty for a little while, again I tink probs an insurance job or an attempt to get around some planning clause.

Some pretty cool shots there dude, pity there's so much of it that's been destroyed :(

the fire seemed a bit suspect after the aparent trouble with planning permission.
wish id got it before it was burnt.

nice pics, seems like total destruction, so that i'll pave the way for easier redevelopment then. Another landmark building lost to hastings, how long before the pier goes the same way? still, you are getting a nice new art gallery down on the stade!

lol yeah i'd like to get into the pier before it goes but im not sure how, the fronts pretty well boarded up so it might be a case of going over the roof on a nice calm night! yeah the Jerwood gallery, seems to be mixed opinion about that, theres a lot of posters in windows in my area (im on the west hill, just above where its gonna b) saying lots of mean things about the idea, though I'm all in favor, anything that can uplift hastings is a good idea!

davey, do u wanna chuck me your email i will add you if your on msn, itd be better to explain to you mate???
also i dont have PM rights yet.

Poignant. My maternal Grandmother died here a few years back. From all accounts (my friend, a local GP) the destruction of the place was a blessing in disguise.
