Cane Hill Wind Vane :(

Just when I didn't think Cane Hill could look any worse, I walked the perimeter in the snow - almost admiring the clear view of the chapel and pottering round at a leisurely pace. When I came to the admin block, I couldn't believe the latest damage. Whether it was vandalised or fell down in the bad weather, the iconic clock tower is missing the weather vane, it has snapped off the top and left dangling.

I'd say it was due to the weather.

Looks good in the snow though.

So glad that building is being saved.

The wind's been picking up a tad too over the past few days -thanks for the update -hopefully the owners will take it down and store it safely 'till the building's restored

I was outside of admin on Tuesday and didn't notice that. Didn't get too close to notice maybe, though - they were bording admin up from the inside outwards when I was there.. squibs are all but done.

Probably down to being well rotted...I took the pic below in august 08 and the woodwork looked iffy then.
