Springfield Asylum opened in 1860, as the first of Surrey's County Asylums. It is located in Tooting, London. The hospital is very much alive and working, apart from this wing, and another much more secure wing which is only accessible by tour. It is, however, a nice way to kill a spare hour or two.
The hospital is currently a medium security unit, and going on the results in google, they care as little about me going in, as they do about patients getting out...

great pics. i dreamt about this place the other night [im very local] so its calling me.

this tour thing. how do you go about doing that? point me in a direction if you have one. can you take pics on a tour?

These pictures aren't from a tour. I have never done a tour either. I can't see the health and safety people doing tours in this wing either. some of the floors are dodgey.

As far as I know, the tours were in a different wing (which I have located) which I have not been in yet. I haven't seen any non tour photos from it either...
