Visited with Kent-Urbex.

We all know the history and various nuances of this site so on with the explore.

Parked as close as we could and saw nobody else all morning apart from someone charging about the perimeter in a swish black Beemer but I'm assuming that was from the nearby live site rather than security.

I was really pleased seeing as this was my first time here and it didn't disappoint; green ward curtains, intact padded cell, beds and working (!) fire extinguishers and I hope my shots are OK. After we scuttled along the roof Kent-Urbex also managed to conquer the water tower.

Wow! someone pwned West Park, wish I'd pwned the sites I visited, it never crossed my mind:rolleyes:

Great shots though bud and well done for getting in after the 'lockdown':)

Even though it appears to have been tightened up we saw no sign of any impending development aside from a skip and some shiny new signs. No huts, machinery, even new cabling or whatever yet so I reckon it's an ideal time to go see it before they start moving in as I guess they will be this year perhaps.

Also, does anyone know anything about the service tunnels here; I presume they still serve the few live bits seeing as there's electricity in some parts of them. One point, we were down the tunnels and had to stop dead because someone was walking about right above us- sorry for being an amateur but did we wonder under some working part by accident?

It was tightened up after - and don't quote me on this as I'm not 100% certain - either the planning was finally refused, or the development company lost all it's money. If they were going to start knocking bits down it wouldn't have been made tighter internally:)

Ha, those pwn'd cards are all over WP! I love this site, shame i never got to it when it was in better condition! Got some pics myself to post when i get my attachment privileges!

You don't need attachment privilages, just use the img tags;)

That would make sense! Awesome, I really wouldn't mind a return trip in the summer so hope it's still possible then.

Hiya Tom, yes the tunnels do lead under the live parts too.

Cavendish, Boswell, Drummond and Manston wards although not live, still have power to them (worth remembering for a battery charge!).

The strip lights in the tunnel under this block are the ones in your pictures. It's pretty awesome under there but don't forget your respirator.
