West Park Lunar-see take 2! Feb '10

West Park is a nice site, but every man and his dog know about it and the same shots get taken time and again. Reaperman and I decided to return for a night visit, and use it more as an experimenting ground for natural and artificially lit shots. Our aim wasn't to cover much ground, but to take shots until they came out right!

It was a good experience and co-ordinating the lighting was good fun. Simply lit with torches and 2 coloured gels.

Quick shout out to the two people we bumped into on the way in!

Very well done indeed..you must tell me later how you did the blue ones..the outside ones look like they were taken at sunset,but I was talking to you at home till 8pm!Hows the new Canon?

The blue light was created by shining a torch through some blue plastic filters.

The outside ones were shot between 11pm and 1.30am!

Excellent photos, it's nice to see it in the dark - night reports of West Park are rare.

nice on Bonesy, pray tell was this your 54th or 56th visit here? you are really getting the most out of your season ticket for the car park!! That Canon sure is good make sure you keep it safe.

i saw this morning you were off there but had no clue as to when and assumed it was today. my wrong.

excellent pics. ive been anticipating your return here and only just got the chance to log in now kids are in bed.

Nice! Love the gelled light painting man, am a big fan of that. Pics are top notch

2nd to last pic, wheres that? not noticed a fire damaed room before or is this 'inside' rather than perimeter?

This ward isn't all that visible from the perimeter - its within a courtyard

Should of light painted the security hut

Good stuff.

Very nice shots indeed RM. You can see the difference that a full frame camera makes with a 17mm lens.

Prefer the lighting in a couple of yours.

Certainly gives the place a different look to all the other photos you see! Very ncie work

I too was underwhelmed with my results of artificial lights in the tunnels.
It's damn hard to find the perfect conditions to get a decent image.
What I thought would be epic shots turned out pants.
Then the battery loses power and it's game over.

You captured some very good images.
