First post here...and first asylum trip.
Quite new to exploring but wanted to visit West Park for a while and was in the area so rude not to. Big thanks to Kent-Urbex for his spot-on access info.
I went after dark and inspired by excellent 'West Park Lunar' pics here I took some coloured photo gels to experiment with. The experiment wasn't a resounding success I must admit, due to a regrettable, ahem, 'technical hiccup' with my camera but I'll post a few pics anyway. Resorted to some photoshoppery in an attempt to salvage something. Somebody might like them. A bit. Maybe. Or not. I'll know what not to do next time anyway.
Spent an enjoyable few hours wandering about in the moonlight though and was lucky with security. very quiet, didn't see anyone the whole time. Water tower door was nailed shut, didn't have proper respirator so skipped the tunnels (asbestos) and missed the padded cell but what a great place. Going again soon.
Here's the pics anyway. Those of a nervous disposition may want to look away now or don protective eyewear. The horror, the horror...
