Brief potted history;
Manor house and grounds previously owned by the Hawley family who were Baronets and their coat of arms is still displayed on the front of the manor house.
Sold off in the 1920's and in 1936 became the Leybourne Grange Colony For Mental Defectives.
Sixty years later it closed and is now undergoing redevelopment.

Fantastic shots there Professor, really good set. I see you were a bit more adventurous that I was with the manor house and clock tower....what was the climb like on the wooden steps?

much love for the grange as always, and you've got some fantastic shots. will be tough to beat them before it's all pulled down.

The best words to describe the wooden stairs in the manor house would be spongy and springy. The clock tower had scaffold and seemed pretty secure (ish).

Load tested to 12 stone, any advances on that? :p
