Having scouted the outside of Hellingly a month ago, it was time to go back inside the hospital. The first time in almost a year. The undergrowth was thick, and at first it looked as though little had changed - with the exception of discarded window frames and carpets in the outlying wards.
We ventured in, and after photographing some tucked away rooms, we headed towards the hall. First thing we noticed was swept corridors, that ended abruptly and through 1 side of the hall, you could see straight outside. The core of the hospital had virtually disappeared.
After encouraging Al to climb up above the stage, we headed out to investigate further. The water tower was now separated from every building, and much of engineering, the boiler room, stores and some of the smaller wards had gone. admin was also cut off from everything else and the kitchens were next on the list to go. And my guess is, after that, the iconic hall will suffer the same fate.
Over the far side of the hospital, little has changed. The laundry still sits as a burnt out shell and the wards look much the same as they ever did - even the corridors are still in tact.
We headed upstairs, explored a few bare wards and headed out.

Most of the images are un-edited,and photobucket has ordered them badly hence poor quality and wonky angles
