Of I know many of you have been round the place and we all know the place is due to be redeveloped in the very near future (planning should be passed in the next week) but I though you might like to see some old photo's of Fairmile. Mostly taken in the 1950's. Hope you enjoy.
.
Lets start with this photo any one recognise where it is taken my aunt is the back left, she passed away a few years ago. I also knew a lot of the people in the photo.
This bunch of nurses is taken outside the old plant nursery which is over near the road, some of you might have seen the remains of it. My mother is the front centre.
Recognise this bit and the drive leading up to it. I might add it was not tared over like now.
These three are outside the chapel and as one is my mum and I know two are catholic (not sure who the third person is) I dare say they had been to a service in the catholic side of the chapel.
Not quite sure where this is taken but is between a couple of the wings.
My dad here is sat outside one of the nurses blocks.
Dad again with one the nurses taken near the OT building.
My uncle here taken with one of the patents (uncle is in the white coat)
Last one or you will get bored with me. This one is taken in Didcot ward where Mum was a ward sister, she is the third from the right.
Hope you enjoyed the photo's and there are more on Flickr. There is going to be an exhibition on Fairmile in October in Cholsey with lots of old photo's. I'll let you know when it is in case a few of you want to go along.
