I thought I'd seen my last of Hellingly when I visited in July last year. However, the suggestion of another visit from Mr Bones proved too tempting to resist, so along we went, picking up a friend (who would like to be referred to as Royal Gala) along the way.
This was a difficult explore as the demolition crew seemed to be everywhere. Echoes of the work going on rattled around the huge site, making it impossible to tell where each sound was coming from. We had to work hard to continue to avoid bumping into anyone, or their machinery! Still, it was an excellent day out and I saw some parts of the hospital that I managed to miss on my previous explores there. I'm almost certain this will have been my last trip to Hellingly, and I felt very sad to see the place being stripped out and demolished. It's definitely the end of an era.

Another good report Lula, one of the most edgy explores of Hellingly i've been on but good fun at the same time.

For anyone who wants to know, the following has been demolished: Stores, restaurant, engineering, boiler house, laundry, kitchens, mortuary and some of the central wards.

Excellant pictures ladies n gents..cant believe the old stores has gone..I loved that place with its mezzazine floor.
