OK so after my early exit late last year thanks to Polish Man Mountain a re-visit to St. Johns had been on the cards for some time.

I was amazed at the honeycombed ceilings and that they were made up of individual bricks - the whole place is full of these ceilings and even the underground tunnels. How long must this have taken ?

A great explore in all.

Some awesome photos there. I was all set to go here and then missed my train.

Those shots are truly stunning, I love the B&W stuff.

By the looks of the last shot, doesn't look we have much time if we want to see it for ourselves.

Cheers for sharing.

As I recall,St Johns was atleast partially shut twenty odd years ago,if I had a scanner I would post my drawings of the place which were done in the late 80's.The grounds and gardens used to be pretty attractive as well.
Great to see a few more shots of a most splendid building.:)

some great shots there, love the honeycombed ceilings as you said those ceilings must of taken forever to do. planning on a visit myself very soon got the date set can't wait to get there and start exploring and getting my own shots.

Nice pictures mate! Love the building it looks amazing! it's now on my to do list :)

thanks all.
yeah it's a pretty special place and one of my faves.

If you should get turfed out early on there's always Nocton which is also worth a visit - very, very trashed but worth a visit all the same

Cracking pics.
This is one of my very favourite explores :)

One of my favorite shots from St Johns, not the best from a photographic point, but hey I like it.
