Visited this site just a few days ago. It wasn't the easiest entry in the world, but was worth it! Gained access with thanks to a local man walking his dog, he happily told us of a few ways into the site and a bit of the history, plus some plans for the land in the future.
After 10 minutes of walking around we had a run in with a security guard in a van. He asked what we were doing, and then told us we didn't have permission to be there. Just when we thought our luck was up he said "I'm not bothered. Don't get hurt, stay out of our way, enjoy your day!" He then thankfully he left us to it.
Despite this, we still tried to be stealthy, and had to hide from another security patrol.
Anyway, on to the pictures! All but two are taken on a small point-and-shoot camera and so aren't very good, also only have external shots.

Good stuff, I think security's more interested in trying to stop pikeys raping the site. Did you see or hear any there?

This is on the cards for me soon, hopefully we don't have any run ins with security but if we do I hope it's that one!

Thanks everyone! Really was an amazing looking place.

mummyshambles - no, its not in Preston. It's a few miles outside, in a village called Goosnargh. Very easy to find and accessible from the M6.

Cuban B - Saw security twice in the time we were there, but we were only spotted the once and luckily didn't get kicked out! Didn't see anyone else there other than security. Although I think there was some work going on in one of the buildings, either that or there was someone looting. Didn't see anyone though!
Definitely going to be visiting here again and try to get some internal shots this time.
