Another return visit to Harperbury for me, this time seeing the cell again, as well as inside some buildings new to me. All in all a very good trip!
Harperbury Hospital opened as Hangars Certified Institution in 1925, intended for 'intended for mental defectives who are socially inadaptable in the community' and was known as Middlesex Colony until 1949. The original hospital has now closed, although some facilities remain on the site.
thats a rarity these days!
