Mansfield General Hospital by night: January 2012
Closed its gates in 1992. I believe this place is not showing its age that bad. geting into this place was quite a job, it requires a bit of crawling and because its in a residential area I was alittle nervous doing this in the open street. Hence I made the choice to come very early in the morning.
I successfully got into the older building as you get into the main yard.
due to the time I had I decided to head for the building in the picture, this looked like the oldest part of the hospital.
Once inside the hospital, there is still quite a bit in tact. I found an old varse, even a pinbadge from someone who used to work there. The main reception area had a very spooky feel to it, very unwelcoming at this time of night.
For a place that has been shut for such a long time It is a wonder how the place is still in tact.
The building seems to have 3 floors, with alot of narrow corriders I was able to get some nice shots.
Enjoy the photos.
and no flash
Looks like there may have been some fire damage at some point
Main stairwell
Downstairs reception area
Finally the best photo of the night taken on the 2nd floor
There is another entire main building I have not yet explored. However it was getting quite early and I was tired at this point.
The next day I went back, but we made the mistake of going too early and security guy saw us. I am a little reluctant to go back now due to this.
If there is anyone on this forum who would like to make another go at this place please let me know. I would be more than up for this.
