Default Nurses' Quarters, Barnet General Hospital, February 2008

These photographs were taken four years ago inside Maple House, one of the nurses' residences at Barnet General. They had already been closed for five years, during which time the local chavs set fire to a nearby building.

The inside of this building was reasonably intact and there were a few things left behind. Many of the nurses were from the Philippines and, as you can see, were quite religious.

Mayon Volcano, in the Philippines. This was covered in [ame="https://www.derelictplaces.co.uk/main/showthread.php?t=10319"]this report by Zmokaz.

The small black book is a 2002 Catholic Diary.

You can see the hospital through the window:

It looked very intact. A Pinoy nurse dealt with my father when he died and she was wonderful. Add to which we made a lot of friends in Coron a few years abck and almost all are still in touch via FB. They really are a lovely people.

    Great pix there. Loved it!

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
