Lluesty Hospital on the Old Chester Road was built as a workhouse in the 1830s before being taken over by the NHS in 1948.

The building, set in seven acres of land, and has been empty since 2008 when the town’s new community hospital opened. It was sold back in 2011 for £275000..The site is allocated for a development of 70 houses in Flintshire County Council’s unitary development plan, although the original workhouse buildings and adjoining chapel are Grade II listed – meaning they cannot be demolished.

After seeing all the signs warning of K9 guard and dog i did take a breath as memories came flooding back of hiding out in the toilets at a previous location..but the whole site was empty apart from some kids hanging out drinking their white lightening!
