In 1852 Col Wyndham was made Governor of the Tower of London and vacated Melton to his regret. In 1869 the house was rented by William Chaplin, who subsequently purchased it in 1870. Chaplin preferred the location to the building, and had the entire house rebuilt in Wartnaby stone by R. Winter Johnson of Melton, in 1874. Chaplin lived in the house for some 30 years.

The house and 15 acres of parkland were purchased by Col Richard Dalgleish in 1920, as a gift to the town, to become Melton & District Cottage Hospital. At the time, the local authority was looking for a suitable memorial to honour those who had fallen during the Great War, so in 1921 Wyndham Lodge finally became Melton & District War Memorial Hospital.

This was my first explore of a building! Great to see it again. Did you hear a beeping sound at all inside. I never saw any instruments. What on earth is #5 that looks like an evil contraption!

Yes I did hear the beeping sound in the small building pictured in my report.
This was my first explore as right on my door step. Have to say it had the most freaky atmosphere inside, even after all the other explores I have done this one still leaves a chill!

I think the instrument is an Endoscope for key hole surgery..

The beeping is just the fire alarms going flat, you must have visited a while ago as its got to be a couple of years since we visited and they were bleeping then

I visited a similar time. 2010 I think. I wasn't on about the trolley. I was on about the thing in the wooden box. So I believe your first answer was correct.
